An unusually heavy snowfall spread over Mount Jabal Shams in Oman, the country of Sindbad, in the southeastern part of the Arabian Peninsula.
According to Gulf News and Omani media on the 24th (local time), on the morning of the 23rd, the temperature dropped to minus 2 degrees Celsius, and heavy snow fell in the mountainous areas that night.
Jabal Shams ("mountain of the sun" in Arabic) in northeastern Oman, a famous tourist destination, is known as the Grand Canyon of Arabia with its 1,000-meter-high cliffs and is visited by many domestic and foreign tourists.
