A self-igniting fire broke out in a Tesla electric car’Model S’ that was running on a highway in the United States, and the local fire authorities poured nearly 23,000 liters of water to extinguish it.
According to the Sacramento Metro Fire Department on the 29th (local time), a fire broke out in the battery compartment of a Tesla Model S passenger car driving east on Highway 50 at 4:00 pm the previous day.
In the fire, the Model S vehicle was quickly engulfed in flames, and the authorities mobilized two fire trucks, one water truck, and one ladder truck to extinguish the fire.
Firefighters used lift equipment to lift the vehicle and spray water to cool the burning battery and extinguish the flames. "As the battery continued to burn, it was extinguished by spraying approximately 6,000 gallons (22,712 liters) of water," the fire department said. “Fortunately, there were no injuries,” he said.
