(Dubai, February 21, 2025) KALLOS, a leading digital art group from South Korea, successfully held the opening show for its first solo exhibition in the Middle East on February 21, 2025, in the Dubai desert. The exhibition, themed "A Journey Through Mirage Odyssey," showcased a media art collection where light, space, and movement converged. Using innovative projection mapping technology that transformed the desert's sand dunes into a living canvas, the exhibition provided visitors with an immersive visual experience.
The event took place at Badaya Camp & Café in Dubai, where a reception starting at 7 PM allowed guests to interact directly with the artists and share their excitement about the artwork. The official opening show began at 8 PM, unveiling a total of 11 works, including 8 new pieces debuting in the Middle East for the first time. The event continued until 11 PM, marking a significant moment of heightened interest in South Korean digital art in the Middle East.
KALLOS, known for representing South Korea's media artists, has created digital art pieces that effectively communicate technological innovations to consumers through collaborations with global companies such as Samsung and Genesis. Recently, their piece "Under the Blueland," exhibited at the newly opened Inspire Hotel in Incheon, garnered major attention in the domestic media art market, earning recognition as the best media artwork of 2024. This exhibition was a key moment for KALLOS to solidify its position as a next-generation South Korean digital art group recognized in the Middle East, following their installation at d'strict, a renowned digital art space in the Dubai Mall.
The event recorded approximately 100 attendees and attracted a wide range of industry experts, including film directors from the UAE, representatives from Dubai's major real estate development company Sobha, senior designers from the global advertising agency Leo Burnett, creative directors from high-end jewelry and lifestyle brands, and business development managers from theme park development companies. These attendees showed deep interest in KALLOS's media art and discussed potential collaboration opportunities with the South Korean digital art group. KALLOS expressed its plans to expand into the Middle Eastern market by partnering with various MENA brands and companies, offering them a unique opportunity to leverage digital art for differentiated consumer experiences.
Hongseong Yoon, the CEO of Tide Solution and KALLOS’s Middle Eastern partner who organized this exhibition, stated, "The fact that KALLOS held its first solo exhibition in the Middle East is highly significant. The innovative use of projection mapping, which takes advantage of Dubai’s natural desert environment, is groundbreaking. Starting with this exhibition, Tide Solution plans to actively use Badaya Camp & Café as a platform to help more South Korean artists showcase their work in the Middle East."
KALLOS's CEO and media artist, Kyungjin Moon, shared, "It was a meaningful experience to present KALLOS's works against the backdrop of the Middle East’s vast natural landscape. We plan to continue our activities in the Middle East and hope to connect with even more audiences in the future."
